Danielle Collins is the unexpected star of American tennis as she eyes a first Slam title


US tennis star Danielle Collins has managed to beat three seeded opponents, including number 2 Angelique Kerber in the Australian Open so far.

In Melbourne on Sunday, Collins beat Kerber with an astonishing  6-0, 6-2.

She then went on to beat unseeded Russian Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova 2-6, 7-5, 6-1 in Melbourne.


Danielle Rose Collins played collegiate tennis at the University of Virginia and won the NCAA singles title twice during her sophomore and senior years.

Collins finished her collegiate career in 2016 as the top ranked collegiate player.
